Baby Sunnies come in two sizes: Babies and Kids. Most children fit neatly by age, but every little face is different. Here's how to pick the right pair the first time.
Babies: 0–24 months
- Smaller frame (about 112 mm wide) with 40.6 mm lenses
- Comes with a soft, adjustable strap that helps keep them on wriggly little heads
Kids: 2–8 years
- Larger frame (about 127 mm wide) with 45.7 mm lenses
- Classic arms, no strap, just like grown-up sunnies
- Made for busy toddlers, preschoolers and school kids
Between sizes? Three quick tips
- Measure temple to temple. Gently measure across the widest part of your child's face, just in front of the ears. Under about 11 cm usually suits Babies, and around 12–13 cm usually suits Kids.
- Petite two-year-old? Smaller two- and three-year-olds often do better in Babies with the strap. It stays put, and they'll still have room to grow.
- Buying as a gift? Go by age. Babies for under two, Kids for two and up.
How should they fit?
The frame should sit comfortably on the bridge of the nose without pinching, and the lenses should cover the eyes when your child looks straight ahead. The arms (or strap) should hold them in place without pressing on the head. Because the frames are bendy, they mould gently to little faces.
